Based on an F.Scott Fitzgerald story, Elizabeth Taylor plays a high society, American beauty, living with her eccentric father, WWll Paris. She meets, falls in love and marries a young American journalist, whose ambition is to write novels, someday. Soon the couple gets caught up in a reckless and carefree, Parisian lifestyle. They find out that this does not bode well with any hopes they'd had for the future.
